What we do
The Hub combines technical learning, practical business exposure, coaching, and testing of new ideas in a real working environment. Our aim is not only to train participants, but to help them build viable green enterprises that can create jobs, solve problems, and contribute to a circular economy. We work at the intersection of innovation, enterprise development, and environmental action, helping participants learn by doing.
Green Internship Programme
A practical training and incubation programme that equips young people with skills in recycling, business development, entrepreneurship, and product innovation, including understanding different waste fractions.

Green Wheels
A mobility and enterprise platform focused on bicycles, cargo bikes, repair skills, and green logistics solutions that support livelihoods and low-carbon transport.

Green Energy
A renewable energy platform focused on solar and other sustainable energy systems, while helping participants build practical technical and business skills.
Why the Hub matters
Malawi needs more than awareness. It needs practical pathways for young people to build skills, create enterprises, and participate in solutions that are environmentally sound and economically viable. The GEMS Innovation Hub helps bridge that gap by combining training, innovation, and business development in one space.
Who it is for
The Hub is designed for young people, aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and partners who want to be part of building practical solutions in recycling, mobility, energy, and circular enterprise. It is also a platform for collaboration with donors, technical partners, businesses, and institutions that want to invest in enterprise-based approaches to sustainable development.
